The Bachgut is the top address for a holiday with your four-legged friend during the warmer months of the year. Please inform us whether you will be bringing your dog with you at the time of your booking so that we can prepare for you in advance. Up to two dogs per accommodation permitted regardless of whether you are staying in the chalets, Alpine huts or main house suites in Saalbach Hinterglemm.

Our fenced Alpine huts and Bachgut chalets with fenced off garden are particularly suited for a holiday in Austria with your dog. Please note that you are not permitted to leave your dog on its own in the accommodation whilst you are out. However, you needn’t worry as there are countless hiking and walking paths waiting to be discovered by you and your dog!

Your four-legged friends are welcome in the entire Bachgut mountain resort with the exception of the swimming pond and the children’s playground, which must be kept dog-free! There are plenty of other opportunities for free running in and around the resort. The morning walks through the Bachgut fitness course, as well as the many hikes up the mountains or strolls through the village are perfect for your four-legged companions for sniffing and exploring! Please always take doggy bags with you on your walks and clean up after your pet! For a longer dog walk we recommend the walk from the Bachgut chalets to the mid-mountain lift station. No grazing animals will cross your way along this fenced path.

As dogs are usually also great water lovers, we have thought of a very special highlight for our four-legged guests. Our mountain resort now also has a doggy pond for dogs and their owners offering wonderfully refreshing cooling off! This very special doggy highlight can be found along the path between both our Alpine huts - accessible via the path leading to the Reiterkogel mountain or, if travelling by car, heading towards the mountain until getting to the small car park in front of the pond.

In this enclosed area, dogs can swim, splash, play, run around and jump off the jetty into the water to their heart’s content. Their two-legged companions, meanwhile, can relax on the loungers and chairs here or also enjoy a dip in the refreshing water!

There are many further top places around your chalet holiday home or Alpine hut at the Bachgut - the Mountain Resort for an unforgettable holiday in Austria with your dog. A stroll through Zell am See (approx- 22 km), for example, ideally along the river-side promenade is wonderfully invigorating and relaxing. The Mozart city of Salzburg is also ideal for a visit with your dog with many long walking paths along the river Salzach as well as numerous great outdoor attractions that can be visited together with your four-legged friend.

One of Europe’s biggest and most beautiful national parks is situated in the heart of the region of Salzburg - the Hohe Tauern National Park is only a short distance from the mountain resort. In the warmer months of the year there are numerous hiking and trekking possibilities along several designated paths. Many of the paths are dog-friendly, although you should always bring a dog lead and doggy bags with you! Please observe any local notices and, if in doubt, ask a national park ranger! The endless paths through nature with stunning views and plenty of room for dogs to run around leave no dog walk or hiking wish unfulfilled!

You, of course, want to bring your dog alongeverywhere. In many public spaces dogs must be on a lead and muzzled, so please do not forget this when going up the mountain. Please avoid walking along paths that lead directly past grazing animals and are not fenced in to prevent any dangerous situations. The hiking path from the Reiterkogel mountain station to the Reiteralm Alpine hut as well as from the Hinterglemm Sonnseit promenade to Saalbach are real insider tips for dogs and their owners. Dogs are also permitted in the cable cars of the local mountain lifts (although they should be muzzled).
